"Queenside Castling" - Our Story!

How and where did it all started?

The Sports Chess club "Velika Rokada" ("Queenside Castling") from Kragujevac was founded on May 3, 2022. It originated from the chess section of the elementary school "Milutin i Draginja Todorović" in Kragujevac.

Who are our members?

It brings together young chess players from Kragujevac and the surrounding areas. Of course, we are open to chess enthusiasts of all ages and anyone who wants to participate in the club’s activities and competitions.

Our Achievements

In a very short time, Chess club "Velika Rokada" ("Queenside Castling") from Kragujevac has achieved outstanding sports results. Here are some of our notable successes:

  • Season 2024:
    • 1st place in the Cadet Women's League of Central Serbia
    • 1st place in the Cadet Men's League of Central Serbia
  • Season 2023:
    • 1st place in the Cadet Women's League of Central Serbia
    • 3rd place in the Cadet Men's League of Central Serbia
    • 1st place in the Šumadija League for Seniors and promotion to a higher level of competition, the League of Central Serbia, North Group
    • 4th place in the Central Serbia First League for Women

Who is supporting us?

From its very founding until today, our club's work is built on the dedication and enthusiasm of a small yet committed group of people. This group, through their effort and vision, laid the foundation for all our successes, and they form the club’s Board of Directors.

The composition of the club's Board of Directors is as follows:

  • President of the Board: Zoran Simović
  • Vice President: Miloš Nikolić
  • Boars's members: Zoran Luković, Aleksandar Obradović, Vladimir Nikolić
