Tournament Announcement
We are pleased to announce that the Chess Club "Velika Rokada" is organizing an international chess tournament to be held from September 19 to 23, 2024, in Kragujevac. This prestigious event will feature 10 teams and clubs from Hungary, Croatia, North Macedonia, and Serbia (including Paraćin, Despotovac, Čačak, and several clubs from Kragujevac). The tournament presents an exceptional opportunity to promote chess and showcase our community on an international level.
The tournament will be rated for rapid and blitz chess, and the event will be officiated by International Master Zoran Novoselski.
About Our Club
Founded in 2022, our club, though young, has already achieved notable results in both domestic and international competitions. We place a special focus on working with children and youth of all genders, believing that they are the future of the sport. Through our activities, we strive to bring chess closer to the youngest players, helping to develop their intellectual and social skills.
The Sports Chess Association "Velika Rokada" ("Quenside Castling"), from Kragujevac was established on May 3, 2022. It brings together young chess players from Kragujevac and the surrounding areas and originated from the chess section of the elementary school "Milutin i Draginja Todorović" in Kragujevac.
Our Achievements
The Sports Chess club "Quennside Castling" ("Velika Rokada") from Kragujevac has achieved significant success.
In 2023, we achieved the following successes:
- 1st place in the Central Serbia Cadet Women's League
- 3rd place in the Central Serbia Cadet Men's League
- 1st place in the Šumadija League for seniors, with promotion to a higher level of competition, the Central Serbia League, North group
- 4th place in the Central Serbia Women's First League
- 3rd place at the international tournament in Budapest
In 2024, we achieved the following successes:
- 1st place in the Central Serbia Cadet Women's League
- 3rd place in the Central Serbia Cadet Men's League
We particularly emphasize that we are one of the few clubs with a significant number of female members and successes in women's competitions.
